A film about salmon farming in waterways used by wild salmon to enter and leave the ocean, and the spread of disease to them from captive fish, its potential effect on the sustainability of wild salmon,  and at a deeper level about conflicts between economy and environment, the power of the individual versus industry and the State, which by its nature and the story it tells asks some very deep questions.

The documentary is surely an allegory for many conflicts between demands for energy and economy even food supplies and the long term health of the environment, including the issue of ocean acidification.

Some very brave determined and selfless individuals seek to monitor and protect the health of native salmon. I cried silent tears at the end at the madness of it all, and the determination bravery selflessness and principle of a few brave individuals. So many dilemmas, but surely if only ultimately for our own survival, we need to protect key wildlife resources.
